PASSOS DE FUTURO project kick-off

Led by JCConsulting, the initiative took shape in a partnership with SBR – Componentes em Borracha, Lda, a company with extensive experience in the production of soles. SBR already incorporated part of its own waste into its production mixtures, and the challenge was to double this percentage while maintaining the quality and technical performance of the final products.

The work will take place in an industrial and laboratory environment, with tests on the formulation, characterisation and mechanical performance of the new compositions. The aim is to validate higher levels of recycled material incorporation, ensuring that the performance and durability of the soles are maintained or even optimised, without compromising economic viability.

More than a technical solution, the PASSOS DE FUTURO (STEPS FOR THE FUTURE) project represents a paradigm shift in the way the industry views its own waste - an opportunity to incorporate more significant amounts of recycled material, promoting a new, more sustainable production cycle.
