STAGE 3 CIRCLE SURF PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

The year 2024 marks a phase of technical consolidation for the project and the start of pre-validation in an industrial setting.

Following the stabilisation of the moulding parameters, development proceeds with the creation of a two-layer structure, combining materials from different sources – derived from neoprene wetsuits and rubber flip-flops – with the aim of optimising the grip, flexibility and strength of the parts.

Between March and April 2024, three new industrial testing campaigns (9th to 11th) are carried out, contributing to the progressive stabilisation of manufacturing conditions.

Tests for hardness, abrasion resistance and foot comfort are conducted in collaboration with NOMADS SURFING, enabling the identification of material combinations with distinct performance characteristics. Among these, the combination of mixture 2 in the upper layer and mixture 5 in the lower layer is now considered the benchmark, as it demonstrates a favourable balance between flexibility, comfort and wear resistance.
